August Issue of Inside HRSA

The August issue of Inside HRSA features features reporting and photos from the recent 2008 Office of Performance Review All Hands Meeting in Rockville. The stories recall OPR’s early contacts with grantees and discuss growing cooperation between OPR staff and HRSA project officers to help grantees get the technical support and advice they need to deliver top-rate services to patients.

The issue also covers HRSA Administrator Elizabeth Duke's acceptance of the U.S. Surgeon General's highest civilian award. Other stories highlight the remarkable help an Omaha health center extended to a flooded clinic in Iowa and the tender care a HRSA grant official received at an Alaska health center after she took a hard fall during a vacation cruise.

And with the presidential election approaching, we also include a refresher on the Hatch Act and the responsibility of Federal employees to be neutral and nonpartisan as we carry out our official duties.

As with every issue, Inside HRSA gives you a snapshot of current news and events, staff on the move, and a useful data tip in "What's up on the Web?". For the latest HRSA news, as well as previous editions of Inside HRSA, visit the HRSA News Room at http://newsroom.hrsa.gov/.
