Elmer B. Staats Young Acquisition Professional Excellence Award

Each year, the Procurement Round Table, in cooperation with the Federal Acquisition Council, awards $5,000 to a young federal acquisition professional, who has contributed significantly to acquisition operations or acquisition policy.

The Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) Shine Initiative is an effort to increase the visibility of acquisition awards and successes and improve the sharing of successful practices. The acquisition community is responsible for managing $400 billion each year to support the missions of hundreds of agencies. This community has increasingly been asked to do more and continually rises to meet challenges while ensuring that taxpayer dollars are spent wisely.

The Shine initiative will increase the visibility of existing and new award programs that recognize federal employees or teams that demonstrate acquisition excellence. Additionally, through the Federal Acquisition Institute Web site, awardwinning and nominated practices will be indexed and clearly described to ensure that these practices can be applied in other organizations.

To support OFPP's Shine initiative, please nominate individuals for the 2007 Elmer B. Staats Award given by the Procurement Round Table. The award recognizes a young acquisition professional who has contributed significantly to acquisition operations or policy. Nominations are due by January 31, 2007. See details on the award and nomination process (PDF 908KB).

Please recognize excellence in the acquisition community by nominating outstanding performers in your organizations.
