FAI Partnerships

As a central resource for federal acquisition professional development and certification, career guidance, and current industry information and emerging trends, FAI is committed to forging partnerships with government, private, and public-sector entities, as well as educational institutions. FAI uses commercial vendors to provide training courses for acquisition professionals.

ACADEMIC INSTITUTIONS

Bellevue University
FAI has partnered with Bellevue University and Defense Acquisition University (DAU) to provide the acquisition workforce an additional resource in training for continuous learning points, certification and higher learning.

Park University
FAI has partnered with Park University and DAU to provide education and training opportunities to Federal Employees.

Treasury Acquisition Institute
The Treasury Acquisition Institute, established by the Department of Treasury in 1993, provides resources, training, and information on acquisition.

Office of Federal Procurement Policy
The Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) in the Office of Management and Budget plays a central role in shaping the policies and practices federal agencies use to acquire the goods and services they need to carry out their responsibilities. OFPP was established by Congress in 1974 to provide overall direction for government-wide procurement policies, regulations and procedures and to promote economy, efficiency, and effectiveness in acquisition processes.

Defense Acquisition University
Provide practitioner training, career management, and services to enable the AT&L community to make smart business decisions and deliver timely and affordable capabilities to the warfighter.

Chief Acquisition Officers Council
The CAOC was established to provide a senior level forum for monitoring and improving the federal acquisition system. The council promotes effective business practices that ensure the timely delivery of best value products and services to the agencies, achieve public policy objectives, and further integrity, fairness, competition, and openness in the federal acquisition system.

Governmentwide Acquisition Intern Program
A two-year program designed to attract a talented, diverse, and motivated group of individuals interested in careers in the field of acquisition.

ASSOCIATIONS

National Contract Management Association (NCMA)
NCMA's vision is to be the preeminent source of professional development for the practice of contract management. FAI has partnered with the National Contract Management Association (NCMA) to address the application of NCMA certifications toward the requirements of the Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C). Below you will also find the Memorandum of Understanding between FAI and NCMA.

National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP)
NIGP provides its membership with education, research, technical assistance and networking opportunities in public purchasing; while promoting excellence, enhancing effectiveness and increasing public trust.

Project Management Institute (PMI)
PMI is the leading membership association for the project management profession. In December 2007, FAI signed a letter of understanding with PMI which compares the PMI certification against the FAC-P/PM on all three levels.
