Jan. 15, 7 p.m., Little Fine Arts Library, Niles Gallery - Opening event for the creative and fascinating Pet Milk project, in which 26 original literary works inspired visual art and music in a blind collaboration. Opening event on Jan. 15 will feature Pet Milk collaborators discussing the project and reading their work, plus live music performances. Free and open to the public. Sponsored by UK Libraries. Jan. 18, 3:30-5 p.m., UK Art Museum - Hot Art and Cool Music, a collaboration with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra Chamber Music Series. Enjoy the music of trumpeter Joe Van Fleet and pianist Ryan Shirar as they bring to life the art and times of Robert Motherwell and Jasper Johns. Until Feb.15, 12-5 p.m. (closed Mondays & UK holidays), UK Art Museum in the Singletary Center for the Arts - An-my Le was born in Vietnam in 1960 and came to this country as a political refugee in 1975. Her work as a photographer is deeply rooted in her personal history but also raises larger questions about our perceptions of and relationship to war. Free. More info 859-257-5716.
