Semiannual
Reports (SARC) |
The IG
is to keep the head of the agency and Congress fully and currently
informed as to the status of agency operations and programs.
This is accomplished by submitting a semiannual report no
later than April 30 and October 31 each year that summarizes
OIG audit, investigative and other oversight activity relating
to the programs and operations administered or financed by
the agency. The IG also reports on the status of the agency's
implementation of the recommended corrective actions concerning
such problems, abuses and deficiencies.

Working
With Congress |
The
Inspector General reports directly to Congress semiannually.
Sometimes a particular Congressperson or Congressional committee
will request that the OIG conduct a particular audit or investigation,
respond to specific questions about PBGC programs and operations,
or review PBGC responses provided to Congress. In the case of
specific requests, the OIG works closely with Congressional
staff to provide timely and useful information. On occasion,
the IG is requested to testify formally in a hearing about work
the office has completed. Congressional testimony given within
the past four years is presented below.
