Welcome to the website for the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. The Court annually processes more than 3,000 appeals and petitions. The Court and its staff administratively process over 12,000 motions filed by these parties asking for extensions of time as well as over 1,000 applications for attorney fees under the Equal Access to Justice Act.
The Clerk's office is preparing for transition to electronic filing of case documents. This will be a complex task as the Court's constituents are located in all 50 states, U.S. territories and the Philippines.
Mr. Herring, the Court's Clerk, is a disabled Vietnam Veteran who practiced law for 25 years before coming to the Court in December 2000. Mr. Herring also served as a Veteran's Service Officer in California and is the recipient of numerous awards for his legal and charitable service.
