This page will provide the updated Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which was recently amended by Public Law 104-231. The new amendments stress agency responsibilities for making available electronic records and electronic communications, providing records in electronic form, and creating indices of records to assist the public in finding records. Please note the following summary of these major changes and a complete marked up version of the new FOIA in three different formats: 1) HTML, 2) Adobe Acrobat PDF, and 3) Word Perfect 5.1.
