All Disaster Recovery Centers in Louisiana to Close on Memorial Day

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Louisiana will be closed on Monday, May 29, for the Memorial Day holiday.

Officials from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness announced that all DRCs will reopen on Tuesday, May 30, with regular hours from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program.  FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
