Abstract:

This working paper explores urban-rural differences in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) workforce. It focuses on the national recruitment and retention of EMS professionals; examining the EMS workforce across communities of varying sizes and populations; including an assessment of geographic differences for entering the profession, job satisfaction, and the intent to leave the profession. The working paper includes tables and references.
