Homeless Policy Academies - Improving Access to Maintstream Service for People Experiencing Homeless

This site serves as an archive to share information from the Policy Academies that took place from October 2001 to April 2007 and from the Federal Planning Committee. This site will no longer be updated after April 1, 2007. Presentations and handouts from the Academies, post-Academy technical assistance information, and useful links to more information on the issue of homelessness are included.

The efforts of the Federal Interagency Planning Team were supported by prime contractor Health Systems Research, Inc. (now Altarum) and subcontractor Policy Research Associates, Inc.

National Learning Meeting As a result of the success of the Homeless Policy Academies and the desire to highlight outcomes and lessons learned from these academies, a National Learning Meeting was held on October 7-8, 2004 in Arlington, VA. Representatives from 55 States and Territories were in attendance. The objectives of this meeting were to: Showcase innovative approaches that States/Territories have implemented Provide opportunities for peer-to-peer technical assistance Renew the States’/Territories’ commitment to fully implementing their action plans.

Learning Community Workgroups As part of the technical assistance follow up to the Homeless Policy Academies, four Learning Community Workgroups were conducted.
