Help
Below you will find help documentation files for downloading. The instructions they contain should help you get familiar with the site. They are not meant to be all-inclusive. If you have questions about how things work, you may always contact us for assistance. We encourage you to experiment on your own as well. There are typically several ways to get at the files on the system and you will probably want to adopt a strategy that's more natural to you instead of following our prescribed steps.

Since our customers use the STAT-USA/Internet site for lots of different reasons, certain information may not be useful to you. We've divided the help files just as our site is divided, State of the Nation, and GLOBUS & NTDB. We've also included a separate section (Appendix) which talks about topics which are common throughout the site.

Help documentation is currently provided in both MSWord format and text format. To download a file simply click on the icon and follow your browser's prompts.

State of the Nation: This section contains domestic United States economic data. Here you'll find major releases and data on the producer price index, bank credit, the Daily Treasury Statement, advance retail sales, etc. The data are only for the United States and they are almost always on a macroeconomic (fairly aggregated) level.

GLOBUS & NTDB: This section is designed for US companies who want to increase exports and/or bid on US government procurements. It contains trade leads, merchandise trade data, market research leads, the Commerce Business Daily, etc. This section is on a more microeconomic level; specific markets are studied and specific foreign companies are often mentioned.

  • STAT-USA/Internet file types
  • STAT-USA/Internet password prompt
