Abstract:

Area Health Education Center (AHEC) cooperative agreements are awarded to public or private nonprofit accredited schools of allopathic or osteopathic medicine, incorporated consortia or the parent institutions of such schools and accredited schools of nursing (in states without an existing AHEC). Model State-Supported AHEC cooperative agreements enable AHEC programs to continue their efforts when they are no longer eligible to receive basic/core AHEC funding.
