Utah Educational Savings Plan
Saving for Your Child's College Education
For 2008 Utah taxpayers will receive a five percent tax credit on contributions up to $1,650 in contributions, equaling $82.50 per beneficiary if filing singly. For Utah residents who file a joint return, the five percent credit applies to a maximum contribution of $3,300, equaling $165.00 per beneficiary. The account must be established before the beneficiary's 19th birthday to qualify for the credit.

Prospective Student Information
The Utah System of Higher Education (USHE) consists of nine public colleges and universities. Whether you are interested in short-term applied technology training, a certificate program, a two-year associate's degree, or a four-year bachelor's degree, the USHE institutions have programs to meet your needs.
Utah Electronic College (Distance Learning)
The Utah Electronic College offers technology-delivered courses from Utah public colleges. The UEC application enables you to enroll in the distance learning courses from all partner schools. The UEC application also eliminates loss of credit and other such administrative hurdles associated with taking classes at multiple schools.
Utah Navajo Trust Fund
UNTF receives 37.5% of the 12.5% oil royalties from 16 leases northeast of Montezuma Creek (62.5% from this area and 100% from Aneth, Red Mesa, and Mexican Water goes to the Navajo Nation). UNTF administers these funds for use in common for Utah Navajo communities and families for various programs such as higher education financial aid, water lines, sewer lines, power lines, housing, renovation, additions, and other chapter projects.
