New budget screens beginning May 6, 2003

Improved Navigation for Preparing Budgets Available Beginning March 10.

The budget screens within FastLane have been redesigned to improve navigation. The new budget screens are available for Proposal Preparation, Revised Proposal Budget, PI Transfer and Addition of SubAward.

A preview of the new budget screens has been on the FastLane Demonstration site http://www.fldemo.nsf.gov since February 7, 2003.

After five weeks on the fldemo.nsf.gov site, we introduced the new budget screens on FastLane on Monday, March 10. The current budget screens will be available along side the new budget screens for a period of eight weeks until Tuesday May 6.

Starting May 6, 2003, only the new and improved navigational screens for preparing budgets will be available.

Significant changes include:

1. New budget summary screen that allows you to:
• Add/delete budget years and budget organizations
• Change the PI and organization
• Access the budget form and budget justification from a single screen.
2. Ability to delete multiple budget years simultaneously.
3. Ability to delete multiple budget organizations simultaneously.
4. Ability to add/delete senior personnel for a budget year from a single screen.
5. Ability to search for organizations by DUNS ID when adding budget organizations.
