Abstract:

This working paper discusses the effects of rural residence on access to dental care. It uses data that show significant disparities between rural and urban populations when examining utilization of dental services, ability to afford dental care, and possession of private dental insurance. The paper describes how minorities and low-income populations in rural areas are especially vulnerable to disparities in dental care. It includes tables and references.
