Youngstown,
OH – Peter J. Elliot, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio,
announces that on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 the U.S. Marshals Northern
Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force assisted the Youngstown Police Department
Street Crimes Unit in the apprehension of Kaqun Slocum (age 18), wanted by
the Akron Police Department for aggravated murder. This charge resulted from
a double homicide that took place in Akron on January 1, 2008, wherein two
individuals, Tammy Dickey and Scott Smith were shot to death in a vehicle
behind an Akron area business. Marquez Perry (age 19), was arrested at the
scene at the time of this incident. Slocum fled the area and avoided
apprehension until he was taken into custody earlier yesterday on East
Brooklyn Avenue in Youngstown. Slocum was lodged in the Mahoning County Jail
awaiting extradition to Summit County to face these charges.
U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliot states, “The
cooperation between our task force partners continues to benefit all of the
communities in Northern Ohio by effectively locating and apprehending those
that evade the law. Violent fugitives, such as this, will continue to be
