Shreveport Fugitive Arrested in Dallas
 
Dallas, TX - On March 8, 2007 members of the Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFW FAST) assisted by Dallas Police SWAT and patrol officers arrested Wadelen Sumlin at a northeast Dallas apartment on Murder charges out of Shreveport, Louisiana.

On March 7, 2007, members of the Shreveport FAST contacted DFW FAST and requested assistance locating and arresting Sumlin, who had fled from Shreveport after the murder. According to Shreveport FAST, on January 9, 2007 Sumlin shot Quantavius Webb, 23, and Shannon Sanders, 17, at a Shreveport apartment complex, Webb died as a result of his gun shot wounds. Sumlin is also suspected in the shooting of Demetrius Mitchell, 38, and Karen Davis in Shreveport the week prior. Sumlin is a known gang member and drug dealer in Shreveport and is known to always carry a gun. Shreveport FAST believed that Sumlin was in the Dallas area.

On March 8, 2007 DFW FAST task force members developed information that led them to the apartments at 9850 Whitehurst, where they observed Sumlin and Oscar King, 22, also from Shreveport, enter one of the apartments. Task force members assisted by Dallas Police SWAT and patrol officers surrounded the apartment and when Sumlin and King refused to open the door, task force members forced entry and arrested both men. Sumlin was arrested on the Murder warrant and a Parole Violation. King was arrested on cocaine and marijuana charges. Task force members also recovered a .40 caliber handgun inside the apartment, which was leased to King.
