Escapee Captured in Georgetown, Ohio
Aster Brewer, a fugitive
who walked away from a local Dayton halfway was captured in
Georgetown Ohio by members of the Georgetown Police and the Brown
County Sheriffs office after a multi county investigation spear
headed by the United States Marshals.
Aster Brewer was convicted in 2004 for being a felon in possession
of a hand gun and received a forty-six month sentence to federal
prison. In July 2007 Brewer was transferred to a halfway house in
Dayton to finish his federal term of imprisonment. On August 12,
Brewer fled the halfway house and began attempting to conceal
himself in and around Dayton, Ohio
On September 19, 2007, Deputy United States Marshals assisted by
Montgomery County Sheriffs Deputies, Dayton Police and FBI agents
began their search in earnest after receiving tips that Aster Brewer
was at several different locations in Dayton. During their
investigations and interviews information began coming in that
Brewer had decided to flee Dayton.
One tipster advised that Brewer had been transported by a family
member to an address in Georgetown Ohio. US Marshals notified the
Georgetown Police and the Brown County Sheriffs Office that a wanted
federal fugitive may be in their area.
At about 11pm on September 19, 2007 law enforcement surrounded the
address supplied by the tipster, made entry to the home and located
Brewer hiding in the basement. Brewer has received an additional
charge of Escape from Federal Custody and will have an appearance in
front of a federal Magistrate.
