U.S. MARSHALS, N.O.P.D, J.P.S.O. ARREST MURDER
SUSPECT
On the evening of April
18, 2007, the Eastern District of Louisiana’s (EDLA) U.S. Marshals
Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF), the New Orleans Police
Department (N.O.P.D.), and the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office (J.P.S.O.)
arrested Frank Daniels, 20 years old, in the 900 block of East
Monterey Court, Gretna, Louisiana.
Daniels was wanted in connection with the March 31 shooting death of
Charley Zeno in Algiers. New Orleans Police allege Daniels laid in
wait before running toward the victim, ultimately shooting and
killing him. Police authorities received information from various
concerned citizens that Daniels was in the Gretna area. Officers
were able to arrest Daniels without incident. Daniels was booked
into Jefferson Parish lockup on unrelated weapons charges. Three
other individuals were arrested on the scene and charged by J.P.S.O.
with gun and narcotics charges.
Acting EDLA U.S. Marshal Roxanna Irwin stated, “This case is another
example of the unprecedented level of cooperation between federal,
state, and local law enforcement agencies to rid our community of
violent offenders.”
The U.S. Marshals sponsored CSFTF includes law enforcement officers
from the New Orleans Police Department, Orleans Parish Criminal
Sheriff’s Office, Louisiana Probation and Parole, and the St.
Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office. Other New Orleans Metro Area law
enforcement agencies also assist CSFTF in fugitive investigations. |
