2008 Special Interest Projects (SIPs) Program Announcement #RFA-DP-08-002
The CDC’s Prevention Research Centers (PRCs) Program announces the Special Interest Projects (SIPs) Competitive Supplements (#RFA- DP-08-002). The purpose of this announcement is to support supplemental health promotion and disease prevention research projects that (1) focus on the major causes of death and disability, (2) improve public health practice within communities, and (3) cultivate effective state and local public health programs. A major focus of these supplements is to design, test, and disseminate effective prevention research strategies.
Please note, however, that only those applicants selected as Prevention Research Centers under Program Announcement 04-003 are eligible for the SIPs funding. That is, SIP applications selected for funding must be from applicants who receive a Notice of Grant Award for Program Announcement 04-003.
Letters of Intent for the SIPs are due on or before March 3, 2008 and applications are due on or before April 1, 2008.
