Hypoglycemia is, among these manifestations,
the least compelling argument for exchange transfusion . The
three other conditions are more life-threatening. A parasitemia
of more than 10% and complications such as cerebral malaria,
non-overload pulmonary edema and renal failure are situations
where exchange transfusion may be seriously considered.
