Searching the Database
To search the database, select your desired search criteria from any of the
"Topic", "State", or "Year" drop lists and then click
[Search]. For example, to find Fire Safety
information from 1998, select Fire Safety from the Topic list,
1998 from the Year list, and leave the State list as
All states. Note that the search
might be slow at times.
Note: "
the "National publications" selection within the "State" drop
list finds publications with data on every state.
If the search finds no matches, the system will notify you
accordingly and return you to the search screen.
You will need to broaden your search criteria to find results in your chosen topic, perhaps by
resetting the State field to All States or the Year
field to All Years.
Viewing the Search Results
After you send your request, a search result list will display a list
of links to your matches.
Click on a link to display an expanded description of the requested
publication. If the publication is available
on-line, you can click on the link to open the publication.
If the publication is not available on-line, the expanded description will
provide information needed to order the publication.
If the search finds more than 10 matches, the search result list
will display 10 at a time. Click the
Next link to view the remainder of the links, 10 at a time.
Alternately, you can open the expanded descriptions for all documents
from the search by clicking the Full List for Printing link. You can then scroll through the results in your
browser or print the results.
