"So,"
their father said as he drove. "When is hurricane season?"
"I
know," shouted Julia. She raised her hand as if she were in class,
and then she lowered it when she remembered where she was. She blushed
a little at her mistake.
"Go ahead,"
their father said.
"Hurricane season
is June 1 through November 30," she said.
Robbie was surprised.
"That's right now!" He looked excited.
"That's what
I'm worried about," their mother said.
Their father quizzed
them some more, and Julia got most of the answers right. She knew there
were five categories of hurricanes and that the winds in a hurricane blow
in a counter-clockwise direction. She knew hurricanes had an "eye"
in the center of the winds.
Before long, they
were at the coast.
