State Data

Some of the tables in the Data Warehouse on Trends in Health and Aging present data by State. For each State and District of Columbia there are tables with demographic and mortality data; as well as data on health status (e.g. prevalence of diabetes and hypertension); and risk factors like smoking and obesity. These tables will allow you

  • to compare the data from your State with national estimates or data for other States;
  • to rank the States on health measures, for example by the percent of persons of 65 years old and over reporting diabetes;
  • to create maps, such as a map of cancer mortality rates by State

To find tables on the State level, go to the folder listing, and type the name of the State (e.g. Kentucky) or the word “state" in the search window, or open a folder and look for State level tables.
