BISMARCK, N.D. -- Disaster recovery teams will visit 17 cities in North Dakota over the next three weeks to provide information to individuals who have been affected by this spring's severe weather. The teams will visit Belcourt, Bismarck, Bottineau, Cavalier, Fargo, Fort Totten, Fort Yates, Garrison, Jamestown, Minnewaukan, Minot, New Town, Northwood, Oakes, Rolette, Rugby, and Valley City.
The teams will work out of temporary offices set up as Disaster Recovery Centers and will be staffed by officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the North Dakota Department of Human Services, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) as well as other state agencies. The Centers will provide information, answers to questions, and written materials about various assistance programs available to residents and business owners who suffered property damage or losses as a result of severe storms, flooding, snow and ice, ground saturation, landslides, mudslides and tornadoes.
The centers will operate from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The location and schedule of the Disaster Recovery Centers is as follows:

Federal Coordinating Officer Lesli A. Rucker joined State Coordinating Officer Adjutant Gen. Keith D. Bjerke in encouraging individuals affected by the disaster to visit the center in their area. "There are many programs available for homeowners, renters and businesses," explained Rucker. "This is a great opportunity for individuals to sit down with these different agencies and get all of their questions answered concerning the recovery process."
Individuals who have been affected by the disaster are urged to start the application process before visiting a center by calling FEMA's toll-free number at 1-800-462-9029 (TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired).
