Mobile Disaster Recovery Center To Visit Dallas County

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Many Iowans residing in Dallas County were affected by the severe storms and flooding that occurred May 5-7. To assist people who received damage from the storms, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) are sending a mobile disaster recovery center (DRC) to Dallas County on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21.

The mobile DRC will be at the fire station in Perry on Wednesday, June 20 and Thursday, June 21. The hours of operation are from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies will be available to answer questions and provide recovery information. Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be ready to discuss disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. Written materials about various assistance programs are also provided to individuals and business owners.

Before visiting the mobile DRC, disaster victims are urged to register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or on-line at www.fema.gov. The TTY number is 1 800 462 7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired. 

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
