Title-Middle School-Mentoring

Why Mentoring is Important

Many successful scientists had a mentor who helped them reach their goals. You may feel sometimes that you don’t have company on the journey you want to take; a mentor lets you know that you’re not alone. A mentor is someone who confidently and generously shares her experience, helping you understand that success is an ongoing process, full of mistakes as well as opportunities. A mentor helps you see what’s possible by giving dreams a human face.

According to the latest U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics numbers, the average woman spends 1,526 hours a year at work. With all the hours you would put in, work shouldn't have to always be "the daily grind." Many people who really love their careers do things that they enjoyed when they were younger. Getting involved in many different activities increases the likelihood of discovering what it is you would want to pursue as a career.
