COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Homeowners, renters and business owners who were affected by the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding of March 8-13 and March 30 - April 3, 2006, have been approved to receive more than $32,605,969 million in assistance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and the State of Missouri Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

Recovery Services Summary as of June 14, 2006:

Affected Missouri residents and business owners who have disaster assistance questions may call the toll-free Helpline number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. CDT. Those with a speech- or hearing-impairment may call TTY 1-800-462-7585. Residents may also visit online at www.fema.gov.

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
