The NAHFE Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Al Gallegos as Acting President for 2009. Election of new NAHFE Officers will take place in November 2009.  Please contact NAHFE for requirements and positions available, if you are interested in serving in the new NAHFE Board of Directors.

Career Senior Level, Policy-Making Positions in the Federal Government

Strategic Direction

  To become a partner with Federal agencies and a leader in the identification and development of Hispanics for senior executive and management positions in the Federal government.

  Inspire a new generation of Hispanics striving to ascend to Senior Executive Service positions, and enrich a pool base of Hispanic candidates for senior executive and management positions

  Strengthen NAHFE infrastructure, financial base and support system to develop initiatives intended to address Hispanic under representation at the senior executive and management levels.

Goals

Seek partnerships with Federal agencies

Disseminate information about qualifications and requirements to become a member of the SES

Develop training programs to prepare Hispanics to compete for SES positions

Engage more Hispanics in the mission of the organization

Become a leader ensuring Federal agencies have access to a pool of Hispanics for SES positions

Develop a Think-Tank to conduct fact-based research and to provide opinions and solutions to the Federal government on issues affecting Hispanics

Monitor composition of SES

Maintain efficient administrative and fundraising performance
