WICHITA, Kan. -- The Allen County Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) located in the St. John's Parish School, 315 South Street, Iola will close Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m.

FEMA's Helpline 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) remains available to assist applicants who have questions about the disaster assistance programs or questions about the status of their previously filed applications. The lines are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.   The TTY number for residents with special speech or hearing needs is TTY 1-800-462-7585.  Information is also available online at www.fema.gov.

The deadline for registering for disaster aid for the severe storms and flood from June 26 to July 25 was Sept. 4.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
