Door-to-Door Outreach Touches Disaster Victims; $1.04 Million Distributed for Individuals and Households

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has distributed more than $1.04 million in disaster assistance to individuals and households affected by the severe storms and flooding in Missouri May 5-18.

As part of the disaster recovery outreach, FEMA Community Relations representatives capped another week of disaster work today with door-to-door visits to 1,387 disaster victims in 17 counties and visits to 116 local officials, including 28 county emergency managers. The representatives explained FEMA programs, the FEMA registration process and made referrals to appropriate program areas.
