PALO, Iowa -- Residents of Palo will come together to prioritize results from their Rebuild Palo Together Visioning Day by attending a second Community Workshop.

The event, called Rebuild Palo Together: From Vision to Goals is set for Saturday, November 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Cedar River Garden Center, 2889 Palo Marsh Road in Palo. Lunch will be provided.

Following the Mayor's Welcome, a joint presentation, "Steps Toward Achieving Hopes and Dreams for Palo" will be given by "Team Palo" which includes members of the City and ESF #14 Long-Term Community Recovery (LTCR) team. The presentation will highlight the achievements of Palo's residents, Council, staff and volunteers and discuss what can be accomplished together. Small group discussions on Big Ideas will follow.

Participants will have the opportunity to comment on potential Vision Statements gathered at the Visioning Day event in October. During the small group discussions, attendees will divide into three (3) groups and participate in three (3) separate facilitated discussions: Finding the center of Palo's community, Connecting the City to its natural environment, and Strengthening the business/commercial environment of Palo. Each group will report at the end of their discussions.

"This unique opportunity provides those in the Palo area the chance to truly influence the future of their community," said Tina Potthoff, communications director for the Rebuild Iowa Office. "We invite all residents to continue to voice their ideas and concerns during this open discussion."

Representatives of the Rebuild Iowa Office (RIO) and experienced recovery professionals from FEMA's Long-Term Community Recovery (LTCR) branch will be on hand to answer questions.
