    Lexington, NE 68850

  2. Kearney-Buffalo County

The declared counties are Buffalo, Butler, Colfax, Dawson, Douglas, Gage, Hamilton, Jefferson, Kearney, Platte, Richardson, Sarpy and Saunders.

Before going to a recovery center it's best to call the FEMA teleregistration line at (800) 621-FEMA (3362). If you have a speech or hearing difficulty call TTY (800) 462-7585. It will take 20 to 30 minutes to complete the application. You can also register online at www.fema.gov/assistance.

When you register you will be assigned a nine-digit registration number. Make sure to write down this number and keep it safe. If you have questions about your application a disaster specialist at the center can help. The number will be needed to track your file.

Here are some of the services available at a Disaster Recovery Center:

FEMA community relations specialists carry and display official government photo identification; they are going door-to-door in each of the declared counties providing recovery information.

Residents visiting a center or calling in to register should have identification, social security numbers, insurance information, proof of address and contact phone numbers on hand to help speed the application process.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
