Storm Recovery Continues As $6.68 Million In Storm Aid Approved

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved more than $6.68 million for those suffering damage from the severe storms and flooding of March 17. More than 2,800 people have registered for help in the 35 Missouri counties eligible for Individual Assistance.
Some 347 people have registered for assistance giving disaster addresses in Phelps, Jefferson and Stone counties. People requesting help have made one or more visits to three Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) operating in Rolla, High Ridge and Galena. The three DRCs have logged 220 visits since opening almost two weeks ago, but daily visitation has dropped to less than a half-dozen people a day and all three are scheduled to close at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17.
After the DRCs close, disaster help will still be available via FEMAs registration helpline, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 and other Disaster Recovery Center locations are scheduled to open in other counties where flood damage occurred.
Visitors to the DRCs are urged to register at the toll-free number before visiting a DRC. All three DRCs will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 and Monday through Thursday, April 14-17. Locations are as follows:
