NIGMS Protein Structures Initiative
The 2008 Protein Structure Initiative "Bottlenecks" Workshop will a two and one half day meeting that will include platform and poster presentations addressing the challenges and technical barriers to the high-throughput determination of protein structure. The first day will begin with a keynote presentation by Dr. Michael Levitt. The platform program for the first day will also include invited presentations from representatives of the Structural Genomics programs in Japan and Europe. The oral program for the remainder of the workshop will be devoted entirely to presentations to be promoted to the platform from the poster abstracts submitted by meeting participants. These talks will emphasize the methods and technologies for high throughput protein structure determination which are working or under development. The poster session will include contributions form all scientists participating in the workshop. Scientists involved in structural genomics efforts outside the United States are especially encouraged to attend.

As with the past workshops, we hope to stimulate the freest and most energetic exchange on all practical issues in high-throughput protein structure determination at all levels. While the meeting is organized for participants in structural genomics projects, others may attend on a space-available basis. Please forward all inquiries to Dr. Charles G. Edmonds at (301) 594-4428 or edmondsc@nigms.nih.gov

The venue for the meeting will be the Natcher Conference Center on the NIH Campus, April 14-16, 2008.

Please note that the Abstract Submission and Hotel registration deadlines are March 21, 2008.

Registration deadline is April 4, 2008.
