| The CSR Advisory Committee has reviewed and accepted the recommendations presented in a report from the Muscle Biology Working Group. The report calls for the creation of a temporary Skeletal Muscle Biology (SMB) Special Emphasis Panel. The report and the recommended guidelines for SMB can be found on this web site. The first meeting of SMB will be in the fall 2001 and will consider applications received on or after May 25, 2001. This panel will end when the recommendations of phase 2 of the Panel on Scientific Boundaries of Review are implemented.. This will be in approximately two to three years. Dr. Paul Wagner will be the Scientific Review Administrator for SMB. Some Chartered members of the RAP study section which have reviewed skeletal muscle biology applications in the past will be participating on the new SMB study section. As SMB will be a Special Emphasis Panel, these chartered members will continue to appear on the roster of the Chartered Members of RAP. Future post-meeting rosters for SMB will list all reviewers participating on this panel.
