Gordon Conference on Angiotensin

February 24-29, 2008

Sponsor(s): Gordon Research Conferences and Division of Intramural Research (DIR), NICHD

Location: Ventura, California
Purpose: This conference brings together talented scientists from diverse disciplines to explore all aspects of angiotensin research. A number of recent advances in the renin-angiotensin field, such as the discovery of the renin receptor and the growing importance of ACE2, make this conference particularly timely. In addition, new clinical trials and animal studies clearly link the renin-angiotensin system to the progression of diabetes and cancer, as well as cardiovascular and renal disease, topics that will be covered fully during the conference. The planned sessions maintain the NICHD tradition of exploring advances in molecular mechanisms, translational studies in animals, and application to human disease.
