September 2004 Federal Consortium Meeting 

September 30, 2004

The Federal Consortium of the National Children’s Study met on September 30th, 2004. Chaired by Dr. Duane Alexander, Director of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, an overview of the current status of the Study and an outline of the Study Plan were presented to senior members of 59 government organizations. These organizations are included among the stakeholders and potential partners in the Study. Leaders within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services provided remarks about the value of this Study to their agencies. Lastly, there was an open panel discussion wherein members of the Consortium addressed their questions, interests, and needs as they pertain to the National Children’s Study. This Consortium Meeting and the Study itself received enthusiastic support by the Consortium members.
