Mark your calendar now and plan to attend the Symposium on Cardiovascular Regenerative Medicine on October 1–2, 2007.
Sponsored by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) and the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health, this symposium will focus on adult stem cell therapies for cardiovascular disease, highlighting both basic research and clinical applications. Research experts involved in the basic science of stem cell biology, as well as clinical cardiovascular medicine experts, will discuss the emerging science, preclinical animal models, and the clinical applications to cardiovascular disease.

Symposium Goals:
- To provide a forum that will stimulate discussion about the basic principles of tissue specification in stem cell biology and cardiovascular development.
- To emphasize recent discoveries that will facilitate moving stem cell biology from bench to bedside for treatment of cardiovascular disease.
- To identify the areas of opportunity for application of regenerative therapies to cardiovascular disease.
- To discuss the impact of recent cell-based clinical trials on treatment strategies for cardiovascular disease.
