Thomas Stackhouse, Ph.D.

Dr. Stackhouse received a B.S. in Microbiology from the Pennsylvania State University (PSU) and worked in a PSU laboratory investigating the mechanisms of Protein Folding using U.V. difference spectroscopy.

Dr. Stackhouse completed his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis where he studied the regulation of gene transcription. After obtaining his Ph.D., Dr. Stackhouse was employed as a Developmental Scientist for Rhone-Poulenc Rorer where he developed and implemented new manufacturing procedures for the purification of proteins from human plasma (factors VIII and IX).

Dr. Stackhouse then worked as a Research Scientist for the NCI, Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center (FCRDC), Contractor SAIC Frederick, assisting on a multi-team effort to successfully clone a new human tumor suppressor gene, VHL. Dr. Stackhouse joined the TTB, NCI by accepting a Technology Transfer Fellowship.

After one year in the Fellowship Program, Dr. Stackhouse accepted a Federal positionand currently, serves as the TTB, Unit Coordinator for the FCRDC Unit in Frederick,MD.
