Sam Bish, Ph.D.

Dr. Bish received his B.S. in Microbiology from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2001. He studied the microbial physiology of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in Dr. Peter Castric's laboratory. Dr. Bish received his Ph.D. from the Department of Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Maryland in College Park, MD in 2007. His research focused on the host-pathogen interactions of Neisseria gonorrhoeae with human epithelial cells in Dr. Daniel C. Stein's laboratory. The title of his thesis was: "Mechanisms Utilized by Neisseria gonorrhoeae to Persist in the Human Cervical Epithelium: Signaling, Invasion, Intracellular Survival, and Escape." Dr. Bish joined the NCI's Technology Transfer Center in November 2007 and is working as a Technology Transfer Specialist in the Division of Basic Sciences.
