Alan Hubbs, Ph.D.

Alan received a B.S. in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, from New York Institute of Technology in 1985, and a Ph.D. in Biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1992. His dissertation focused on protein synthesis and assembly. He performed postdoctoral work on the HIV-1 reverse transcriptase at a biotechnology company, followed by work on transcription in Vaccinia Virus, at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). Dr. Hubbs stayed on at the AFIP, first performing research on a novel signal transduction protein, and later establishing a core service laboratory for the institute. He has authored or coauthored fourteen scientific journal articles and two book chapters. He joined the Competitive Service Center of the TTC in June of 2007.
