Lisa Finkelstein, Ph.D.

Dr. Finkelstein received a B.S. in Biology from Duke University in 1992 and a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Michigan in 1998. Her dissertation focused on elucidating signal transduction pathways downstream of T cell integrin adhesion receptors. After graduate school, Dr. Finkelstein moved to State College, PA for a post-doctoral fellowship at The Pennsylvania State University studying the STK receptor tyrosine kinase and its role in Friend virus-induced erythroleukemia. While at Penn State, Dr. Finkelstein was awarded an American Cancer Society Postdoctoral Fellowship which she brought with her to a Senior Research Fellow position at the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) in 2001. At NHGRI, she studied the role of the intracellular tyrosine kinase Itk in T cell receptor-mediated signal transduction pathways. Dr. Finkelstein joined the NCI TTB as a Technology Transfer Specialist in September 2005.
