H.R. 979—The Bipartisan Consensus Managed Care Improvement Act of 2007

On February 12, 2007, Representative Charlie Norwood (R-GA) introduced H.R. 979, the Bipartisan Consensus Managed Care Improvement Act of 2007. The bill outlines basic standards for access to medical care, including requiring managed care organizations to allow patients access to clinical trials and pay for the associated costs of the trial. The bill was jointly referred to the House Committees on Energy and Commerce; Education and Labor; and Ways and Means.
