Biosketch:
Dr. Huang, Ph.D., M.P.H., received his Ph.D. in preventive medicine and his M.P.H. in epidemiology and biostatistics from the University of Southern California. Dr. Huang serves as the program director of pediatric obesity and metabolic syndrome program, as well as T32 institutional training grants, within the ENGB. In addition, Dr. Huang is Director of the Obesity Research Strategic Core in the Office of the Director, NICHD. Dr. Huang's program covers the physiological, clinical, and epidemiological aspects of pediatric obesity, diet, physical activity, and metabolic precursors of chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. He is an active leader on major NIH initiatives related to pediatric obesity, particularly with regard to the development and implementation of a multilevel or complex systems approach to obesity.
