Biosketch:
John H. Moye, M.D., is a pediatrician who joined the PAMA Branch in 1990. His background is in clinical and laboratory medicine and public health, with an emphasis on the prevention and control of communicable and chronic diseases, including sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. His areas of activity include HIV virology and immunology research; laboratory quality assurance; growth and nutrition; international research initiatives. He is also involved in clinical trials conducted as part of the NICHD Domestic and International Pediatric/Perinatal HIV Clinical Studies Network; the Women and Infants Transmission Study, for which he chairs the Clinical Working Group; and the Pediatric HIV/AIDS Cohort Study (PHACS), which is evaluating the long-term effects of antiretroviral exposure in HIV-exposed but uninfected children, the effects of perinatal HIV infection and its treatment in adolescents, and effects of therapy in infected children, for which he is scientific project officer.
