Biography

Dr. Xu received his Medical Degree from Hunan Medical University, Hunan, China in 1987. He did an internship and residency in Pediatrics and Surgery from1987 until1992, when he decided to pursue a career in science. He served as a Research Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Hunan Medical University, Hunan, China, from1992 to1995 during which time he received a Master's Degree of Science from this Department. Dr. Xu then moved to Japan in 1995 and obtained his Ph.D. in 1998 from the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan. After 3 years as a Postdoctoral Fellow in NIH and Georgetown University, he was promoted as an Assistant professor in Georgetown University in 2001. Now He is working as a Staff Scientist in LCP/NCI.
