Biography

Dr. Price received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from the University of Arkansas, and his Ph.D. in molecular and cell biology from the Pennsylvania State University. Upon completion of his doctoral degree, Dr. Price was awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute fellowship at the Emory University School of Medicine under the mentorship of Dr. Stephen Warren. While at Emory, Dr. Price studied the FMR-1 gene, the gene responsible for Fragile X syndrome. Prior to his arrival at the NCI, Dr. Price spent 6 years as the Director of Molecular Biology at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
