Biography
Dr. Patterson, Staff Scientist in the Immune Biology of Retrovial Infection Section, received her doctorate at The Ohio State University. She first joined the FDA, CBER, as a National Research Council Research Associate, working on the developement of viral recombinants expressing novel immunogenic forms of HIV envlope as potential vaccine candidates. Later, she moved the the NIH, NCI as a post-doctoral fellow working in the laboratory of Dr. Marjorie Robert-Guroff before becoming a Staff Scientist in 2004. Dr. Patterson's research focuses on the development of an HIV-AIDS vaccine, in particular indentifying correlates of immunity in the non-human primate vaccine model.
