Biography
Dr. Prindiville is the Director of the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). She was appointed to this position in 2006 to oversee the restructuring of the national cancer clinical trials enterprise to ensure that it is not only more efficient and coordinated, but founded on the best science. Dr. Prindiville received her M.D. from Northwestern University and her M.P.H. from Johns Hopkins University. After finishing her residency in Internal Medicine at Evanston Hospital, she completed fellowships in both Medical Oncology and Cancer Prevention at the National Cancer Institute in 1995. She was on the faculty of the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center from 1996 – 2001, where she conducted research in cancer epidemiology and prevention. She returned to the NCI in 2002 and directed the Clinical Cancer Genetics Program in the Genetics Branch of the Center for Cancer Research prior to her current appointment. She is an adjunct staff clinician in the Medical Oncology Branch where she conducts clinical trials developing targeted therapies for individuals with inherited predisposition to cancer.
